Presentation

The Workshop on Distributed Software Development (WDDS) constitutes a discussion forum that gathers researchers, students and practitioners for presenting and discussing problems and solutions related to Distributed Software Development (DSD) techniques, methods, tools, environments and processes. Therefore, WDDS is a workshop about theoretical fundaments and practical experiences of adopting DSD in academic and industrial projects.

State-of-the-art and state-of-the-practice advances are expected for the exchange of contributions, opinions and debates. Thus, WDDS 2008 has the purpose of generating knowledge and exchanging experiences in DSD. In the context of the workshop, DSD spans organizations, countries, time zones and even continents.

In the second edition, WDDS is being organized as a co-located event of the 22nd Brazilian Symposium on Software Engineering, which is annually sponsored by the Computer Brazilian Society (SBC) and gathers researchers, students and practitioners from Brazil and abroad, who present and discuss topics related to the state of the art in Software Engineering.

In 2008, WDDS is being organized by the State University of Maringá (UEM) and will be held in the city of Campinas, in the state of Sao Paulo, Southeast of Brazil. It is in the heart of one of the most important poles of Science & Technology of Latin America, home to much of Brazil's high tech industry and research institutes.

Hope to see you there!
